The Birmingham Art Book was launched in its home city in early July 2022 and will be in all good book shops and online by the end of July. The book showcases the city through the eyes of 59 contemporary artists, all inspired by this fantastic city. The foreword to the book has been written by Brummie comedian Joe Lycett. Edited by Emma Bennett, images were chosen by a local panel of art and city experts following a free submission process from artists. Through 120 pages of visually stunning images from artists working in a broad range of media and style, The Birmingham Art Book shows the city in a new and exciting way. With the help of the illustrated map in the book, you will be able to take a walk with a copy of The Birmingham Art Book in your hand and stand in the footsteps of an artist for a while. Coming late July: Editor Emma Bennett chats about The Birmingham Art Book with Dan Harrison on the epic 'Epic Brum' podcast: Some of the celebrity endorsements for The Birmingham Art Book ‘This book shows a unique view of Birmingham, a city that still holds a substantial bit of my heart’ Dame Julie Walters 'This is like being given a pair of magic spectacles through which you can see Birmingham’s unusual, oft hidden, oft unappreciated beauty, more clearly and more exhilarating than you ever did before' Frank Skinner 'We are a city that’s quietly understated yet brilliant!
